Movers in La Cienega
Free, No-Obligation Estimate
Rural acreage, horse properties, and old adobes southwest of town. Leonard’s moves La Cienega with care, owner on the job.
Moving in La Cienega: What to Expect
La Cienega is the rural village southwest of Santa Fe, acreage and horse properties, historic adobes, and newer homes strung along the creek and the dirt roads off I-25. Lots are large and the drives are long and often unpaved, so Leonard scouts the access, brings the gear to protect the home and the yard, and keeps a La Cienega move on schedule.
What to square away before a La Cienega move
- Long, unpaved drives and large lots stretch the carry
- Historic adobes have thick walls and low doorways
- Gates, wells, and soft ground need a careful truck approach
Typical La Cienega move cost

Three ways to keep the day short
- Point out a long or unpaved drive when you book
- Flag an old adobe with tight doorways up front
- Share any gate or access details ahead of the day
Three Steps to Moving Day
From the first hello to the last box carried in the door and set in the right room.
Tell Us About the Move
Give Leonard the shape of the move by phone, on a quick video call, or straight through the form. What comes back is a fair hourly rate or a flat quote in writing, not a soft number that swells once the truck is loaded.
Lock In Your Date
Claim your day and we set the right crew and truck, then sort the parking on a narrow Eastside lane, the HOA gate pass, or the loading window your building asks for.
We Carry the Load
Leonard runs the whole job himself, wrap, load, drive, and place, and we plan the run around St. Francis Drive, Cerrillos Road, and I-25 so the day stays on time.
Moving Services in La Cienega
Leonard carries the whole thing, from that first phone call to the final box, with nobody brokered in between.
Long-Distance Moving

Your Move, Fully Covered
Taken care of from the first blanket we throw down to the last box set in the far room.
Fully Insured
Every job carries cargo and liability coverage, and we go over your valuation choices with you before you sign a single form.
Adobe-Ready
Narrow adobe doorways, Eastside dirt lanes with no driveway, kiva corners, and saltillo floors, we scout the carry and lay down protection so a historic-district move never gets stuck at the gate.
Padded & Wrapped
Every piece is blanketed, shrink-wrapped, and strapped down tight. If a piece takes a knock, we call it out on the spot and put it right.
Done Right
An honest price, an owner who cares about the work, and nobody leaves until every last piece sits where you want it.
We Know La Cienega
We scout the unpaved access, the large-lot carry, and the careful handling before your date, so a La Cienega move goes smoothly from the gate to the door. Leonard runs your job from the first knock to the last box, and you hold the price before a single item is loaded.

We found Leonard on Yelp when we learned we had to store our small household items while we were looking for a new home. Even though we did not use Leonard yet, the experience so far was most excellent.
When I moved out of my pace in Santa Fe Leonard's moving services made it a quick and easy experience. I was really happy to have such great help. They arrived early and finished early. I recommend them to anyone moving in or out of New Mexico! Definitely the best moving experience I've had.
If I could give Leonard and Danny six stars I would. They were fast, professional and compassionate. They went above and beyond for a very reasonable rate and it's clear that Leonard wants to make sure your move is stress free and that you're happy. I highly recommend them!

Questions We Hear a Lot
Do you move within La Cienega?
Yes, all across La Cienega and the I-25 south side. Local moves run on our hourly or a flat quote, and we plan for the long, unpaved drives. When the move leaves New Mexico, we price it on weight and distance instead.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Leonard’s Moving Services is a licensed, insured New Mexico mover, and Leonard runs the job with his own crew from start to finish, with no broker in the middle taking a cut. Happy to share the coverage details, just ask, and we will go over your valuation choices before anything is final.
Do you do loading and unloading only, or PODs and rental trucks?
Yes to all of it. Plenty of Santa Fe folks rent a truck or drop a POD and just need strong, careful hands to load or unload it, and that is a job Leonard has done for years. We load a rented truck tight so nothing shifts on I-25, unload a freight truck or container, or handle the whole move door to door, whatever you need.
My place is an old adobe on a narrow Eastside lane. Can you handle it?
That is a lot of what we do. The historic homes off Canyon Road and around the Eastside sit on skinny dirt lanes with thick adobe doorways, low viga ceilings, kiva corners, and saltillo-tile floors that scratch if you rush. We measure the turns, pad the jambs, lay floor runners, and hand-carry anything that will not clear a tight portal.
Will you handle the packing?
As much or as little as you want. Need the whole house boxed? Done. Just the kitchen and the art? That works too. We bring sturdy cartons and paper, label each box by room, and can unpack you at the new place once the truck is empty.
Do you move pianos, gun safes, and heavy items?
Yes, and Leonard handles them regularly. An upright or a baby grand, a loaded safe, a slate pool table, a heavy antique, or a framed canvas, each one rides the right board or dolly under proper straps and pads, and we plan the route through the tight spots ahead of time.
Can I move or cancel my date?
Of course. Reschedule or cancel with two days’ notice or more and your full deposit comes back. Every condition is written into your booking in plain words, so nothing is left to guesswork.
