Moving in South Santa Fe: What to Expect
South Santa Fe runs along the Cerrillos Road and Airport Road corridor, apartment complexes, condos, and family homes with the easiest access in town. Driveways, lots, and loading zones give us room to work, so Leonard puts that to use, plans around the Cerrillos traffic, and keeps a south-side move moving.
What to square away before a South Santa Fe move
- Apartment complexes have their own move-in hours and stairs
- Cerrillos Road traffic can shape the best move window
- Third-floor walk-ups add carry time

Three Steps to Moving Day
From the first hello to the last box carried in the door and set in the right room.
Tell Us About the Move
Give Leonard the shape of the move by phone, on a quick video call, or straight through the form. What comes back is a fair hourly rate or a flat quote in writing, not a soft number that swells once the truck is loaded.
Lock In Your Date
Claim your day and we set the right crew and truck, then sort the parking on a narrow Eastside lane, the HOA gate pass, or the loading window your building asks for.
We Carry the Load
Leonard runs the whole job himself, wrap, load, drive, and place, and we plan the run around St. Francis Drive, Cerrillos Road, and I-25 so the day stays on time.

Taken care of from the first blanket we throw down to the last box set in the far room.
Fully Insured
Every job carries cargo and liability coverage, and we go over your valuation choices with you before you sign a single form.

I rarely give a 5 star rating--but Leonard Garduno exceeded my expectations in every way! Reliable. Professional. Courteous. I found Leonard on Craigslist and he quoted me the best rate (for the job and not by the hour) and assured me that he could handle the job by himself--he did and in record time. I had to reschedule my move and Leonard was very accommodating. Moving is a stressful and exhausting experience and towing a u-haul and moving to a new city (Santa Fe) upped the stress level to the point where I got lost trying to find the storage facility where Leonard was to meet me and unload the u-haul. To make a long story short, Leonard waited 30 minutes and was able to talk the storage manager into staying past closing time. He did the work of 2 guys in half the time--I know this because it took 2 guys and twice the time to load the uhaul. He not only wouldn't accept more money than we had agreed on, despite the extra time involved but had me follow him to the uhaul place and detached the uhaul and gave me directions to my hotel. He called me a while later to make sure that I made it to my hotel! I will be hiring Leonard for the move to my long term rental in Santa Fe. He also provides relocation services within New Mexico and local errands and deliveries.
I had a heavy treadmill I dreaded moving, but they handled it like it was nothing. They knew how to disassemble it safely and wrap it properly. I watched as they worked, and they communicated with each other clearly.
Everything about this felt like a well-handled move. No rushing, no damage, just steady progress. They seemed experienced and made decisions confidently, which helped me trust the process easily.

Questions We Hear a Lot
Do you move within south Santa Fe?
Yes, all along the Cerrillos and Airport Road corridor. Local moves run on our hourly or a flat quote, and the easier access here often keeps the day short. When the move leaves New Mexico, we price it on weight and distance instead.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Leonard’s Moving Services is a licensed, insured New Mexico mover, and Leonard runs the job with his own crew from start to finish, with no broker in the middle taking a cut. Happy to share the coverage details, just ask, and we will go over your valuation choices before anything is final.
Do you do loading and unloading only, or PODs and rental trucks?
Yes to all of it. Plenty of Santa Fe folks rent a truck or drop a POD and just need strong, careful hands to load or unload it, and that is a job Leonard has done for years. We load a rented truck tight so nothing shifts on I-25, unload a freight truck or container, or handle the whole move door to door, whatever you need.
My place is an old adobe on a narrow Eastside lane. Can you handle it?
That is a lot of what we do. The historic homes off Canyon Road and around the Eastside sit on skinny dirt lanes with thick adobe doorways, low viga ceilings, kiva corners, and saltillo-tile floors that scratch if you rush. We measure the turns, pad the jambs, lay floor runners, and hand-carry anything that will not clear a tight portal.
Will you handle the packing?
As much or as little as you want. Need the whole house boxed? Done. Just the kitchen and the art? That works too. We bring sturdy cartons and paper, label each box by room, and can unpack you at the new place once the truck is empty.
Do you move pianos, gun safes, and heavy items?
Yes, and Leonard handles them regularly. An upright or a baby grand, a loaded safe, a slate pool table, a heavy antique, or a framed canvas, each one rides the right board or dolly under proper straps and pads, and we plan the route through the tight spots ahead of time.
Can I move or cancel my date?
Of course. Reschedule or cancel with two days’ notice or more and your full deposit comes back. Every condition is written into your booking in plain words, so nothing is left to guesswork.
